Chapel Program

Chapel at Montgomery School is a non-sectarian, character-based lesson presented to students twice a week.

Our non-sectarian Chapel program develops a strong sense of community and belonging while allowing students to acquire and practice valuable public speaking and presentation skills. Chapel begins with the acknowledgement of student achievements, birthday celebrations, important school announcements, followed by a special message that directs our students’ character education.

Chapels are presented by the Head of School, Head of Lower School, Head of Middle School, teachers, students, administrators, and special guests. Each Lower School class and 6th and 7th grade advisory groups are responsible for organizing at least one Chapel during the year. As an 8th grade student, it is a traditional rite of passage to lead the School in a chapel presentation about a topic that is meaningful to them. Our students spend a tremendous amount of time and effort preparing for this pivotal moment in their educational journey.

Family and friends are encouraged to join us for Chapel, as it is a wonderful way to build close ties, stay informed, and experience the reinforcement of positive messages.
