Chapel Program
Montgomery School gathers weekly to develop character and build community. We call these gatherings "Chapel" because they are inspired by the Episcopal traditions of our founder and are part of the school’s longstanding history. At the same time, Chapel celebrates the rich diversity of our community, which include teachings and traditions from a variety of faiths and cultures shared by our families. The program fosters a strong sense of belonging while helping students develop confidence through regular public speaking and presentation opportunities.
Chapels are presented by the Head of School, Head of Lower School, Head of Middle School, teachers, students, administrators, and special guests. Each Lower School class and 6th and 7th grade advisory groups are responsible for organizing at least one Chapel during the year. As an 8th grade student, it is a traditional rite of passage to lead the School in a chapel presentation about a topic that is meaningful to them. Our students spend a tremendous amount of time and effort preparing for this pivotal moment in their educational journey.
Family and friends are encouraged to join us for Chapel, as it is a wonderful way to build close ties, stay informed, and experience the reinforcement of positive messages.
