Welcome to Kindergarten!
At Montgomery School, our full-day kindergarten days truly are full, with joyful learning, meaningful connections, and opportunities for children to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and creatively. Through a playful, hands-on approach, students explore language arts, math, social studies, and science, supported by daily mindfulness, outdoor learning on our beautiful 60-acre campus, and collaboration with peers.
Experience the rhythm of a meaningful day filled with wonder and discovery.
Focused Instruction, Meaningful Growth
Small Class Size. Big Possibilities. With a maximum of 16 students, our classrooms are designed for personalized learning and deep connection. Small class sizes ensure each child is known, nurtured, and challenged. With a focus on social-emotional learning woven throughout the day, students develop the skills they need to thrive, academically and personally. Kindergarten students move around campus for special areas like science, art, music, Spanish, technology, and physical education, rounding out their experience and making every day vibrant, connected, and full of discovery.
The Montgomery Difference
Each students' journey is filled with moments that build connection, spark confidence, and support growth—socially, emotionally, and academically. From meaningful relationships to focused routines, our approach helps every child feel known, supported, and ready to thrive.
In Kindergarten, teachers set individual goals for each student, tailored to their unique social, emotional, and learning needs. These goals are shared and reviewed during conferences to celebrate progress and support continued development.
Family-style dining is an essential part of our curriculum. In our Dining Room, kindergarten students share meals together while engaging in meaningful conversations about nutrition, wellness, and healthy choices. This daily experience nurtures social skills and builds strong connections across grade levels in a warm, community-centered setting.
Our Buddy Program pairs older and younger students to form relationships, foster leadership, and create a strong sense of community. Through shared activities and meaningful connections, students learn from and support one another.
Our days are filled with fresh air and real-world discovery. Children explore our 60+ acre campus daily—observing creek life, going on scavenger hunts, and conducting outdoor experiments that bring learning to life in nature.
