Enrichment

For many children, the school day doesn’t end when the last bell rings. There’s still lots of learning to be done and fun to be had. Taught by Montgomery specialists, who already know your children well, after school enrichment programs build on each student’s daily experience to inspire mind, body, and character.  

Current Offerings

The Crafty Chef Academy: Holiday Traditions ($150)
Session: Nov. 9, 16, 30, Dec. 7 (3:30 - 4:30 PM)
Grades: PreK-5

The Crafty Chef Academy is excited to bring you crafty and creatively satisfying fun with food!  We call it “edible art”. The Crafty Chef Academy is known for “over-the-top” classes that build skills that will last a lifetime! In addition to fun, your little chef will use food as the platform to apply their growing knowledge of science, math, language, art, and more. 

One of the secret ingredients of family holiday celebrations is food! Join us on a kid-friendly culinary adventure as we explore a variety of holiday traditions. 

November 9: Give thanks! We're making some of the cutest items for you to share at Thanksgiving. You'll be grateful you came!
November 16: Light it up! Let's light up the menu with Diwali, Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah confections
November 30: Elves, eggnog, cookies, cocoa, and the ultimate Gift Exchange!  
December 7: A New Year, A New You! Happy Chinese New Year to you, too!

"Herons on the Run" with Mr. Toomey and Mrs. Sillup ($150)
Session: Sept. 26, Oct. 3, 10, 17 (3:30 - 4:30 PM)
Grades 1-5

The focus of this program is to make running fun for students while improving their fitness, health, coordination, and athleticism. This program also complements other sports and activities while reinforcing good sportsmanship and teamwork. We want all kids to feel confident and healthy through physical fitness, which, of course, includes running!

Signature After School Sports Enrichment

OT (Overtime) Sports*

  • Lower and middle school 
  • Fridays, 3:15–4:15 PM 
  • Sessions focus on sport specific skills 
  • Groups are divided by skill level so individual athlete’s skills advance at the right pace through appropriate drills and small sided games
  • Directed by Director of Athletics, Carolyn Blair

The cost for each session is $175 per child.

5th Grade Interscholastic Sports*

  • “Almost” middle school students experience team dynamics and begin to learn specific sport skills
  • 5th grade students may participate in the fall and spring sports seasons
  • Fall: field hockey, soccer or cross country 
  • Spring: lacrosse 
  • Two days a week, 3:15–4:15 PM
  • Students play in 3 JV games per season. This is an opportunity for young athletes to ease into more competitive play with high level coaching and game day exposure.
