For many children, the school day doesn’t end when the last bell rings. There’s still lots of learning to be done and fun to be had. Taught by Montgomery specialists and community partners, after school enrichment programs build on each student’s daily experience to inspire mind, body, and character.  

Afternoon Enrichments* are offered throughout the school year and include fun and engaging lessons in art, science, theater, and more! Visit this page often for the latest offerings and to register online.

Current Offerings

Jiu-Jitsu with Alec Kearns P'31 ($150)
Session: January 29, February 5, 12 and 26 (3:30 - 4:30 PM)
Grades: 2 - 5
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a sport rooted in grappling, blends elements of traditional martial arts with practical techniques. Throughout this enrichment, the goal is to introduce students to martial arts and cultivate their engagement in the discipline. The class aims to enhance students' control over their movements, foster spatial and bodily awareness, and, most importantly, create an enjoyable learning experience. Participants will acquire skills such as proper falling techniques, ground mobility, safe methods of taking an opponent to the ground, and a selection of fundamental self-defense techniques.


Acorn Yoga with Susan Notaras ($150)
Session: February 7, 14, 21, 28  (3:30 - 4:30 PM)
Grades: Playhouse to 2
Are you looking for a fun, physical activity that can help your child stay healthy and fit in body, mind, and spirit? Through the Acorn Yoga program, children are encouraged to develop an awareness of their senses, build social skills, and become more self-aware, self-regulated, and focused using yoga postures, mindfulness practice, and playful games.


Sewing, Enrichment Specialist from VAC ($240)
Session: March 14, 21, April 4, 11, 18, 25 (3:30 - 4:30 PM)
Grades: K - 5
Unleash Your Creativity with Sewing! Join this exciting Sewing class to design and create unique projects. Beginner or experienced, you'll develop essential sewing skills and unleash your imagination. No experience or special materials needed, we’ll provide everything. Discover various techniques, stitches, and decorative embellishments. Craft stylish garments, accessories, and home decor items. Combine learning with fun and become a sewing enthusiast. Enroll now and explore the exciting possibilities of this timeless craft. Get ready to stitch, create, and unlock endless creativity! *Please note, this enrichment runs for 6 weeks.


Ramp Up: Skateboarding with Mike Dixon P'33 ($160)
Session 1: April 2, 9, 16, 23  (3:30 - 4:30 PM)
Grades: K - 2

Session 2: April 30, May 14, 21, 28 (3:30 - 4:30 PM)
Grades: 3 - 5 

Drop in and experience the joy and challenge of skateboarding in a safe environment with a certified instructor! No experience necessary. This beginner level skateboarding clinic balances new skills, supervised practice, and creative games and challenges! Skateboards are provided but you MUST provide your own helmet. Wrist guards, elbow pads, and knee pads are not required but strongly encouraged.


Signature After School Sports Enrichment

OT (Overtime) Sports*

  • Lower and middle school 
  • Fridays, 3:15–4:15 PM 
  • Sessions focus on sport specific skills 
  • Groups are divided by skill level so individual athlete’s skills advance at the right pace through appropriate drills and small sided games
  • Directed by Carolyn Blair, Director of Operations

The cost for each session is $175 per child.


5th Grade Interscholastic Sports*

  • “Almost” middle school students experience team dynamics and begin to learn specific sport skills
  • 5th grade students may participate in the fall and spring sports seasons
  • Fall: field hockey, soccer or cross country 
  • Spring: lacrosse 
  • Two days a week, 3:15–4:15 PM
  • Students play in 3 JV games per season. This is an opportunity for young athletes to ease into more competitive play with high level coaching and game day exposure.
