As our 8th grade students prepare to be leaders in the school, it is our desire to provide them more focused and intentional leadership training at Montgomery to help them maximize the platform they are given in our PreK-8 environment. To that end, we will have the 8th Grade Leadership Retreat at Refreshing Mountain Retreat and Adventure Center in Lancaster, PA on September 26 & 27, 2019. We will depart by bus from Montgomery at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 26 and return to campus at 4:00 p.m on Friday, September 27.
During this retreat, students will be challenged to step out of their comfort zone, reflect on their personal leadership journeys, and to cast a vision for positive influence in the spheres in which they find themselves at Montgomery and beyond. Chaperones for the trip will be Mr. Rajarigam, Mr. Hutcheson, Mrs. Blair, and Mrs. Kaplan. Click here for the Retreat Schedule.
The cost for this retreat is $200, which will include travel, food, accommodation, and use of retreat center facilities. Payments are due no later than Tuesday, September 24th, and can be dropped off to Patty Kirkner in the farmhouse along with the Release & Waiver Form.
The release and waiver form is needed for the teambuilding and adventure activities in which students will be participating (zipline, giant swing, high ropes, etc.). Proper safety equipment and supervision will be employed. Please print, sign, and submit to Patty Kirkner in the Farmhouse no later than Tuesday, September 24 with your payment for the trip.
