Think Boldly.

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't—you're right.
Henry Ford

What does it mean to be bold? Is it raising your hand when you’re not sure if you know the answer? Is it standing up in front of the whole school and sharing a personal experience for the first time? Is it launching a community letter writing campaign to your local representative to improve services for seniors? What seems like all in a day’s work for one person might feel like jumping out of an airplane for another. We all have different comfort zones and each of us takes a different path to stretch beyond it. That’s why knowing every student well is so important; it’s how Montgomery teachers make sure every student thinks their own ‘bold’ and makes ‘bold’ a process.

Whether in class, a club, on a team, or as a friend, ‘good enough’ is never good enough. We stretch ourselves to think more broadly—using the world (not just our classroom) as our work space. With ample opportunities for do-overs, Montgomery students have the freedom to explore yet-to-be-proven ideas and the time to never give up.

The three pillars that frame the Montgomery School experience support who we are as well as who we will become—as a school, as collaborative learners, and as graduates. Our pillars are both descriptive and directive: this is what we do now, and these are the habits we are committed to practicing in the world.
