Dear Middle School Families,
We are right around the corner from Welcoming Day, and what will be an exciting and eventful school year! Below you will find the news and events for the month of September, and some logistical information to review so our students start off strong for the school year.
Arrival and Attendance: Students should be at school and in their homeroom no later than 8:20 AM. As you know our schedule has changed, and we now have academic classes starting at 8:25 AM. It is important for students to arrive on campus for the short homeroom block that involves attendance and announcements for the day. Arriving at school on time will set students up for a successful day, and give them time to smoothly transition into their classes. Please refer to Wendy Walton’s recent email around arrival and dismissal.
Student IDs: All new and 6th grade students will receive key cards. We are going to require all students to have their key cards on them at all times, so they can safely enter the buildings on campus. If your child is returning to Montgomery, and can not find their key card, please email me before the end of next week and we will provide them with a replacement card. All students should start the year with their key card. Throughout the year, if a student loses their key card, the first replacement is free and the second replacement will cost ten dollars.
Acceptable Use Policy and Computers: Students will receive their Chromebooks on the first day of school. For the first two weeks of school, we are going to have sixth grade students keep their Chromebooks at school to help them transition around their technology usage. Please review the Acceptable Use Policy with your child and make sure it is signed within our system. The form can be found HERE, on our parent portal and enrollment checklist. Please reach out to Mike Toomey if you can not find the form. All students will be required to have the form signed prior to bringing their Chromebook home.
