Montgomery School students maintain an organic garden on campus throughout the year. The produce from the garden is used in the lunch program whenever possible. Students gain hands-on experience planning, planting, and weeding the garden. They also help harvest the food when it ripens.
The garden started in collaboration with Maysie’s Farm, an organic farm collaborative run in Chester County, and was made possible through a grant awarded for that purpose. Students have maintained the garden since its inception and renew it and work with it each year.
