PreK Program Highlights
Buddy Program - Prekindergarten students are paired with 4th grade buddies for the School year. Together they celebrate special School events hand in hand as it strengthens the bond between students and begins their journey in the School family.
Field Trips - The Prekindergarten students participate in 2-3 field trips each year. The Field Trips include a trip to Varner Farms, Giant Grocery Store, and the Elmwood Zoo. Students learn about their immediate community and community helpers through these wonderful education excursions. Students are also visited by a fire fighter each year to learn about fire safety and community service workers. Another great visitor is a Ms. Yvonne Post, a farmer who teaches the children the benefits of healthy and organic eating through a farm to table approach to cooking.
Service Learning - Each year students and teachers work together to create and follow through on a Service Learning Project that helps to benefit their immediate School community.
