Secondary School Placement Timeline

April 

• Placement Forum
• Placement Fair

May

• First family meeting with Mr. Hall and/or Mrs. Sheldrick

Summer 

• Review web sites of other schools and nais.org
  
• Request admissions packets from 5-8 schools
• Parent should write a letter to Jon Hall describing their child including out-of-school experiences and passions-Due July 14th
• Student should write a letter to Mr. Hall describing their out-of-school experiences and their passions-Due July 14th
• Obtain SSAT and ISEE Bulletin of Information and register for the test (if required by school for admission)

September

• Schedule 2nd family meeting for October
• Begin bringing in recommendation forms. Some schools have early deadlines, particularly the Catholic Schools. Please make sure all recommendation forms and transcript requests have been given to Mrs. Dowlin.
• Deadline for registration for ISEE test at Montgomery School

October

• Second family meeting with Mr. Hall and/or Mrs. Sheldrick in the mornings from 7:45-8:15 AM

Mid October

• Begin bringing in recommendation forms to Mrs. Dowlin

Saturday, November 5, 2011

• ISEE test administered at Montgomery School from 8:30 to 11:30 AM

Early November

• All Transcript request forms, recommendation forms, and request for letters of recommendation should be submitted to Mrs. Dowlin to ensure application file is completed in time for first round consideration.

End of First Trimester

• Send in the school application, application fee, and a request for financial aid form (if applicable).*

Mid December

• Montgomery will mail out all packets to schools before Holiday Break.

Early January

• Contact schools to make sure they have all the necessary information about your child.

Mid February

• Day schools will send letters notifying parents of admission decision.

March 10th

Boarding schools will send letters notifying parents of admission decision.

April 10th

Deadline for parents to reply to schools regarding where child will enroll.
