Chess is a game of mental skill. It focuses the mind and strengthens problem-solving skills. Chess teaches its players how to think several steps ahead and to anticipate several possible moves from their opponents. Chess is definitely a "Mind Game" molding the mind and building mental aptitude. Whether you have played before or are learning for this first time this class is a blast!

Junior Mechanical: Lets Make Toys

In the Junior Mechanical Engineering: Let's Make Toys classes, our youngest engineers will be introduced to fundamental concepts of energy, materials, and movement. Students will explore and construct six different toys throughout this unit, including spinners, magical boomerang cans, wind - up whirligigs, and more. Go from the basic designing of these toys to how to improve them and the secrets of how they are engineered for FUN!

Part of our NEW PreK Enrichment Series! Music Makers is a fun 1 hr class where kids can enjoy learning songs, playing music games like Farmer in the Dell, and making music with different instruments to help keep the beats! Kids will compose silly songs, get up and move to music, and have fun social interaction with their PREK friends! Mr. Don and his guitar will guide the students through this fun class with help from Ms. Janney. Students will have a snack and drink before each class begins. Pick up will be in the PreK Classroom.

The children will have fun and success as they learn how to create increasingly complex video games and share them on the internet. They will add levels, stages, text, backgrounds and music. They will work on important debugging skills. They will get comfortable with the in-game navigations controls, and finally the children will design video games from scratch. Fun Tech for 3rd-5th graders with ALL NEW Designs this year!

Part of our PreK Enrichment Series! Color & Create is a fun 1 hr class where kids can enjoy using paper, glue, scissors, crayons, markers, paint, pottery, and more! Ms. Janney will teach and inspire the students in this fun class. Students will have a snack and drink before each class begins. Pick up will be in the PreK Classroom.

* Please send an Old short sleeved adult T-Shirt to be used as an art smock. Make sure to write your child's name on it and send it in a zip lock bag.

Aerospace Engineering : Up Up and Away
During the Aerospace Engineering classes, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a variety of flying machines. They construct a shock absorbing system designed to protect two marshmallow astronauts in a lunar vehicle, create their own air-powered rockets, and assemble a model blimp that actually takes flight!

Toying Around with Science

Explore the world of physics and chemistry that exists in toys. We'll put a spin on some classic favorites and introduce you to some new "totally tubular" toys. Boomerangs, yo-yos, kaleidoscopes and roaring cups are all part of the fun!
