MSCA Officers

Please review the description of the MSCA officer positions, and then complete the nomination form here. Then submit it to Ms. Kirkner in the farmhouse, or email to Jean Gessl or Allison Stinger by March 1.

The MSCA is guided by the Officers and the Director of Development.

President & Vice President – Serve as liaisons between the parents and the school administration and work to set the MSCA’s annual agenda. Work with the Director of Development (DoD) to ensure that the MSCA structure has a diverse representation of volunteers who support school programs. Plan and implement meetings and events. Work closely with the officers and homeroom parents to foster a sense of community.

Treasurer – Receive all monies of the MSCA, keep accurate records of receipts and expenses, pay out funds in accordance with the approved budget, prepare financial statements, and present reports and an updated budget at each meeting.

Secretary – Take attendance and record minutes of all general meetings of the MSCA. Disseminate minutes to the officers and DoD. May be asked to attend and report on additional meetings.

Volunteer Coordinator – Work with MSCA officers to facilitate the recruitment and assignment of parent volunteers. Coordinate the recruitment of volunteers for leadership positions in the MSCA in the spring and work with the DoD, President and VP to fill all positions before the end of May each year. Gather volunteer requests from Event Chairs and post requests on electronic sign ups. Serve as a touch point for parents who want to volunteer and event chairs looking for volunteers, and connect the various parties.

Communications Liaison – Write weekly MSCA updates for Schoolhouse News and other MSCA communications as needed.

LS Representative – Work with the LS Head to ascertain how parent support can be effectively utilized. Serve as liaison between Homeroom Parents and LS Head.

MS Representative – Work with the MS Head to ascertain how parent support can be effectively utilized. Serve as liaison between Grade Parents and MS Head. Plan and run the first MS Dance with profits turned over to student government to fund remaining school year dances.
