Executive Committee

Charter

The Executive Committee of the Montgomery School Board of Trustees is charged with the following responsibilities:

  1. Make recommendations to the board in regard to problems or concerns of the school.
  2. Act on behalf of the board in between meetings of the board, subject to subsequent ratification by the board.
  3. Serve as a sounding board and counsel for the head of school.
  4. Function as a confidant and counsel in the area of personnel issues.
  5. Appoint the Compensation Committee which is charged with negotiating a contract with the head of school from time to time.
  6. Appoint a board member to conduct an annual board self assessment and an assessment of the head of school.
  7. Form ad hoc committees or task forces as needed.
  8. Ensure that long-range planning is carried out in a timely and appropriate fashion by the board.
  9. Establish annual goals for the board. Reviews committee performance and progress versus goals, based upon reports to the board.
  10. Determine agendas for all board meetings.
