Charter
The Committee on Trustees of the Montgomery School Board of Trustees is charged with the following responsibilities:
- Review the demographics and expertise needs of the Board in anticipation of future vacancies, and work to enhance the diversity of the Board
- Identify potential Board candidates and solicit nominations for anticipated vacancies
- Interview likely Board candidates to determine suitability for the Board and to share Board expectations with potential candidates
- Prepare and present annual slate of new officers and trustees for approval and election to the Board
- Evaluate annually the effectiveness of the Board, its officers, individual trustees and committee members
- Orient new trustees
- Consider Board retreats and Board education activities to develop the Board and clarify its function
- Ensure compliance with the Bylaws, and recommend Bylaws revisions to the Board when appropriate
