Volunteers Needed for Sweetheart Dance

The Sweetheart Dance Committee is looking for volunteers to help with set up before the dance and clean up afterwards. If you are able to help with either or both of these tasks, please click here to sign up on Signup Genius. Thank you!

A Message from the Nurse

Flu & cold season is still upon us. To help keep germs at bay, it is important to wash your hands frequently. Please remember that children MUST be SYMPTOM FREE (including but not limited to a temperature greater than 99.9, persistent cough or runny nose, vomiting and diarrhea) and/or on antibiotics for strep throat or pink eye for at least 24 hours prior to returning to school. A guideline to help decide whether your child should stay home is if they are not well enough to play at recess, they are not well enough to be at school. When in doubt, please keep them home. This is a school policy and has been put in place to reduce the spread of germs and keep students, staff and families healthy and learning-ready!

HAPPENING THIS WEEK

Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 12:45 - 1:30 PM

Math Bowl and Drop the Dress Code

Last week's Math Bowl has been rescheduled for this Wednesday, at 12:45 PM in Bell Hall. Students who are not participating in the competition will be in attendance to cheer on their classmates. Parents are also invited to join us!

Students may Drop the Dress Code and wear something that is math-related, which can be homemade. For example, you can use a roll of painter's tape to make Math symbols (+, =, --. x, <, >, etc. ) to put on a shirt. This tape won't leave any stickiness behind and is a fun way to celebrate the event.

We are looking for a variety of options, such as Spa, Salon, Hair, Nails, Shave, Massage, Maid/Cleaning, Limo/Uber/Lyft, Florals, Landscaping, DJ, Dog Grooming/Kennel, Legal/Wills, Tutoring, etc. Please think about donating gift cards you already have or asking your favorite places to donate this week. To gain additional exposure for a donor, ask if they would like to donate a customized service experience which can be highlighted at the event.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

The Great Wall of China

Third grade students have been studying the fascinating country of China. They have been learning about the Great Wall of China, the longest wall in the world, and the reason it is one of the most amazing landmarks on our planet. As part of this lesson, the students made their own wall (shown here). This is representative of The Great Wall, as it is curved instead of straight to flow in harmony with the land.
