DEADLINES AND REMINDERS

Schedule Your Parent-Teacher Conferences

Click here to schedule your conferences through the Pick-A-Time Scheduling System, for 10/25 and 10/26. To login, the student ID is the formal student name, and enter the birthday as xx/xx/xxxx. If you are new to Pick-A-Time or need help logging in, please refer to the instructions, here.  If you need further assistance, please contact Janis Oeschger.   

Order Your School Portraits

Individual school portraits and class photos are available online to view and purchase. Please click here to review your child(ren)'s photos, and enter your child's first and last name. For more details on viewing and ordering your portraits and class photos, click here. The deadline to order is December 1. If your child missed picture day or you would like to have your child's photo retaken, please complete this request form. The retake day is scheduled for Friday, November 2.

Trick or Trunk

Join us for trick-or-treating in Montgomery's parking lot!  If you plan to attend, please be sure to complete the online form.  If you are joining us but do not plan to decorate your car, please bring a bag of candy to donate for trick-or-treating. Candy donations can be given to Allison Stinger. 

Those decorating their cars may arrive at the Farmhouse parking lot at 5:30 PM to set up. All other guests are encouraged to arrive at 6:00 PM and park near the Dining Room and around the back of campus. We thank our MSCA officers and the 8th Grade Parents for coordinating the evening's festivities.  Please note: This event is for Montgomery families only.

Parent-Teacher Conferences 
Dismissal Procedures 

On Thursday, Oct 25th, Middle School will not be in session due to parent teacher conferences. Also on Oct 25, Lower School students will have a Noon dismissal with car line & busing available at 12 noon.  (There will be No Busing provided by Spring Ford or Great Valley Districts).

There will be No School for all students on Friday, October 26th.

Please note the following:

Thursday, October 25

If your child is normally car on Thursdays, they will be sent to car line at 12pm.

If your child is normally bus on Thursdays, they will be sent to bus at 12pm.

If your child is normally in the Afternoons program OR takes the Spring Ford or Great Valley bus on Thursdays, they will be changed to car line. (No Afternoons this day - see camp info below)

If you need to submit a change of dismissal for Thursday based on the info shared above, Please do so BEFORE Oct 25th via our online Dismissal Form.

Drop In Centers & MSD Camps on Conference Days
FREE Drop in Centers will be available in the GYM for you to drop off your child(ren) while you are on campus, attending conferences. No advance registration required for Drop in Centers.

If you need child care for Thursday and/or Friday, Oct 25th & 26th, MSD Camp has you covered! Thursday, Oct 25th there will be a 1/2 day camp from 12-5:30pm with a pizza lunch included. On Friday, Oct 26th there will be a full day 8am-5:30pm camp available. Please go to the MSD Mini Camp page to sign up & pay for either or both of these camps online. Deadline to register is Friday, Oct 19th.

MSCA AND COMMUNITY EVENTS

8th Grade Car Wash Fundraiser

Support the Class of 2019 and get your car squeaky clean! Our 8th Grade Students will be washing cars in exchange for donations on Sunday, October 21 at the Chick-fil-A in Eagleview.  All donations will go towards the class' year-end events.

Enrichment Spotlight
Halloween Cookie Class: Students will make two dozen yummy cut out ghosts & pumpkin cookies with lots of fancy toppings! One day class on Oct. 29th. Visit the Enrichment page for more details and to register online. 

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

The Big Dig

Our 5th Grade students participated in a simulated archaeological dig whereby they had to measure and map out the "dig site" using methods similar to an archaeologist. Next, in two groups, they carefully excavated "artifacts" using simple tools to uncover objects used by two families by digging into large containers of mulch to remove artifacts; in this case, items that would tell more about the lives of two separate families. The students' main task was to take the artifacts back to the labs (classrooms), examine the items, and work collaboratively to draw conclusions about the families. In this activity, combining both fifth grade classes, students' collaborative and critical thinking skills were emphasized.

AROUND CAMPUS

A Note from the Nurse
Health Screenings for LOWER SCHOOL ONLY (height and weight, vision and hearing) will be done on October 29, 2018. Please make sure to send your child in with their glasses or contacts if needed. Middle School will be scheduled for a day in November.

WASH WASH WASH those hands! Flu season is upon us. Please remember that children MUST be SYMPTOM FREE (including but not limited to a temperature greater than 99.9, vomiting and diarrhea) for 24 hours prior to returning to school.

Thank you to all those who sent in their health forms. If you haven't sent your child's forms in yet, please do so immediately.
