Hurricane Recovery Relief - Many Opportunities for Montgomery Families

There are several ways you and your family can join us in supporting those impacted by the recent hurricanes.  

• Select to add a donation with your purchase of the Montgomery School Sweatshirt or Fall Mums, currently being sold by the MSCA.
• Select to add a donation with your purchase of the Montgomery School Logo Drawstring Bag, currently being sold by the 8th Grade Class.
• Donate $5 on Friday, September 22nd, for a special Drop the Dress Code day.
• Make a donation to participate in a fun activity with your favorite teachers at our Annual Family Picnic on Friday, September 22nd.

Donations will be directed to Global Giving Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund and Hurricane Irma Relief Fund which are supporting disaster recovery efforts to those most affected. Please note, all donations are tax deductible.

First All School Chapel: Time Correction

The first All School Chapel will be held Friday 9/15 at 8:30 AM.  This is a special chapel where our 8th grade students escort our Kindergarten students into Chapel.  Please note the correct time of 8:30 AM.

Emergency Notification Test Call

On Saturday 9/23 at 11:00 AM you will receive a call from our emergency notification service.  You should receive the call on all parent cell and home phone numbers.  If you do not receive a call or would like to update your phone numbers, please contact Janis Oeschger.

Middle School Dance: Friday 9/15, 7:00 - 9:30 pm

Calling all Middle Schoolers!  Put on your dancing shoes for the first Middle School Dance,  Friday, September 15th at 7 pm in the Dining Hall.  The cost for the dance is $5 per student. The car line will run in the opposite direction for pick up at 9:30 pm.  Please be on time to pick up your son or daughter at 9:30 pm that evening.

Middle School Parent Night: Tuesday, 9/19, 7PM

Middle School Parents' Night is Tuesday, September 19th and will begin promptly at 7 pm in Bell Hall.  Parents will be given a copy of their child's schedule and time to meet with each teacher.  This is an important event in starting off the year well, so please make every effort to attend. 

Lower School Coffee for New Parents and Mentors - Wednesday, 9/20, 9-10 AM

New Lower School parents are invited to join Lower School Head, Susan Marotta and Director of Admissions, Deb Goggins, for coffee in the Dining Room immediately following Lower School Chapel next Wednesday. We'll check in with you to answer any questions you may have about your family's transition to Montgomery School and review upcoming school events. Fall is a busy time at Montgomery School and we want to make sure that you have the tools you need to successfully navigate your entry into Montgomery!

Family Picnic: Friday, 9/22 5:30- 7:30PM

Join us for our annual family picnic on Friday, September 22nd. A buffet dinner will be available in the Dining Room from 5:30pm until 7:30 pm. Casual dress. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and whatever else you need for a picnic. Please be sure to keep an eye on your children throughout the picnic. Children may not be on the playground or other areas of campus without parental supervision.

Gresh Memorial Golf Classic: Monday, 10/2

Each year, Montgomery School hosts the Gresh Memorial Golf Classic. The tournament is being held on October 2nd at Applecross Country Club and online registration is now open! The day includes lunch, a round of golf with cart, beverages, the 19th hole cocktail hour, dinner and auction. For complete details and information about child care for those participating, visit our website. Don't miss the chance to tee off for a good cause and show our students they are worth a Hole in One!

Carline Safety Reminder

Please DO NOT pull out of carline after your child exits your car.  Please wait until the car in front of you pulls ahead.   FOR OUR EARLY Middle School Students:  if you arrive after 7:50 am, please wait in carline.  

Free Montgomery School Car Magnets!

Don't forget to show your Montgomery spirit everywhere you go! Each family was given two new car magnets with our new "Montgomery M" logo in their Welcoming Day folders. Be sure to stick them to your car and display them with pride! If you need additional magnets or would rather have a window cling for your car window, please contact Mrs. Goggins.

First MSCA Meeting: Friday, 9/22, 9 AM 
All are welcome! Meeting will be held in the Dining Room, immediately following Chapel.  Young children are welcome to attend. Bring a friend! 

MSCA Montgomery School Sweatshirt Sale - Orders due Friday, 9/29

This year's newly designed sweatshirt includes the new Montgomery logo on the sleeve - options include a black or gray hoodie and a maroon crewneck.  Samples will be available at the Family Picnic (9/22).  Orders will be delivered in mid-October. Download this form, print it out and drop it off with your payment to Patty in the Farmhouse.

Art Department

The Art Department is always looking for donations of newspapers and scenic magazines, like National Geographic or travel magazines.  We could also use clean baby food jars and shoeboxes.  Thank you for supporting the arts!
