Montgomery School relies on the philanthropic support of its parents, alumni, friends and others in order to sustain quality programs at the School. Montgomery School is dedicated to providing the highest standards of teaching, as well as developing moral values, leadership qualities, and a sense of personal and community responsibility in young people.
Tuitions provide a great percentage, but not all, of the income that Montgomery School, like all independent schools, counts on to meet expenses. Gift income is used by independent schools both to finance part of the cost of educating each child and to pay for the extra dimension that makes the independent education even better able to meet the needs and talents of each individual. These charitable gifts are essential to ensuring the high quality of each child’s education.
Montgomery School seeks support in several ways throughout the year. Please consider giving your support to Montgomery School this year. For further information on any of the potential ways to support Montgomery School, please contact Kristen Stevens, Director of Development at 610-827-7222 or kstevens@montgomeryschool.org. Thank you!

ANNUAL FUND
The Annual Fund is the most direct way to support Montgomery School. The income raised each year helps us to bridge the gap between tuition and the real cost of educating a Montgomery student. Your donations may support:
New and better technologies in the classroom
A competitive athletic program that involves all students
Faculty salaries competitive with peer schools
Field trips and special projects that enrich a students life
Day to day expenses without which a school could not run
Our goal for 20072008 is $215,000. The fiscal year closes on June 30, 2008 and gifts may take the form of a personal check, stock certificates, or credit card. Montgomery School is grateful for each and every gift, no matter the size.
CAPITAL GIFTS
A capital drive occurs when we must go outside of the School’s annual budget to raise funds for such things as building new facilities, purchasing new land, or building the School’s endowment. It is the type of campaign in which we ask that donors "stretch" in their gift to the School. Our W. Perry Gresh Academic Center, Sedor Science Center, new Dining Room, and playing fields are all recent manifestations of this kind of donation. Montgomery School has come a long way since moving to Chester Springs, however, there is still much work to be done.
PLANNED GIVING
Every gift to the Montgomery School can contribute to the mission of the school and the educational experience of its students. Some gifts can also benefit you, the donor. Planned gifts are structured to provide you with financial and tax advantages while assuring future resources in support of Montgomery.
Some of these benefits include:
The satisfaction of making a significant gift to the Montgomery School during
your lifetime. |
Lifetime income for yourself or others with the possibility of an improved yield
on your assets. |
An immediate income tax charitable deduction yielding current tax savings. |
Freedom from capital gains tax when using long-term, appreciated property to
make a gift. |
Reduction of the size of your taxable estate. |

THE BENEFIT
Montgomery School runs a yearly benefit to raise funds for the School. The event is held in the spring and has consisted of a party for the School community as well as a small silent and live auction. Many parents take leadership roles and volunteer at the benefit. Your financial contribution to this annual event by becoming a sponsor or advertiser supports the School. The 20th Annual Benefit, The Beach Ball ... An Exotic Island Evening, will be held on Saturday, April 5th.
