Thank you for clicking to learn more about how Montgomery School attempts to make our education more affordable for a greater number of families. We believe we offer an innovative approach to offering need-based financial aid. To be clear, all aid offered is based on financial need; it is not offered for special talents - not in academics, not in the arts, and not in athletics. What makes us unique is that we have three different programs to help families of different income levels:
Base Financial Aid
This is the typical financial aid model you see in most schools as well as in most college and universities. This is the starting point for all financial aid applications and looks at a family's income, expenses, assets, and liabilities. We use an independent service, SSATB, to help gather the data and assist in these calculations. The typical income range of a family who may qualify for this base financial aid with one child is usually in the $50,000 - 150,000 income range. NOTE: Every situation is different and is also impacted by a family's net assets so this range is for illustrative purposes only and will vary depending on each families individual circumstances.)
Middle Class Initiative Financial Aid
The typical income range of a family who may qualify for the Middle Class Initiative financial aid with one child is usually in the $125,000 - $175,000 range.
(NOTE: Every situation is different and is also impacted by a family's net assets so this range is for illustrative purposes only and will vary depending on each families individual circumstances.)
FWYAFWYWB (For Who Are. For Who Will Become.) Financial Aid
It is not uncommon to hear of families who understand the great value a Montgomery School education provides and how well it prepares students for the next level. However, they may decide to wait to have their children start at Montgomery in Middle School so that they can save money on tuition. We know that establishing the foundation of a child's education is too important to delay, and it is actually more important to the academic success of a child to start their Montgomery education as early as possible because it is in the early years that the foundational literacy and numeracy skills are established and during which the positive disposition towards learning and school is nurtured. Without these skills, a child's future engagement and success in school may be at risk. Accordingly, we have created a distinct financial aid program to help those families who recognize the importance of a great foundation. To qualify for this program, a child must be newly applying to our Lower School. We have specific financial aid dollars set aside for this program, and best of all, this program is on top of any financial aid a student may qualify for under the Base and Middle Class Initiative programs. We offer this program specifically so that a child will have the opportunity to experience the foundational strength of our full program and help them become the best student they can be. The typical income range of a family who may qualify for this FWYAFWYWB with one child is usually in the $100,000 - $200,000 range.
