ADVIS Elects Kevin Conklin as President

ADVIS (Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools) has Elected Kevin Conklin, Head of School at Montgomery School in Chester Springs, PA, as President of the Association. Conklin will serve a two-year term. ADVIS is made up of 136 Independent Member Schools throughout the tri-state region, covering eastern Pennsylvania, Northern Delaware, and Central and Southern New Jersey.

ADVIS member schools work together to promote independent education and make their schools accessible to a wide range of families. ADVIS is a non-profit organization; its mission is to support and strengthen the administrative and financial activities of independent member schools by providing professional development, cooperative efforts, and inter-school collaboration.

Conklin has been Head of School at Montgomery School since 2000. The school’s mission states: Montgomery School is an independent, co-educational day school serving prekindergarten through grade eight in Chester Springs, PA. The School is dedicated to the development of each child in mind and body through academics, fine and performing arts, and athletics in an enriching cultural and physical environment. The School is equally committed to the development of each child's character, with an emphasis on integrity, respect, responsibility, and service to others.

Mr. Conklin has been a Director of ADVIS since 2004 and has served on the Executive Committee since 2006. In addition to his active participation within the Independent School community, Mr. Conklin is currently a Trustee of the Mill at Anselma Preservation and Education Trust, a National Historic Landmark, in Chester Springs and a member of the Advisory Council of Historic Yellow Springs, also in Chester Springs.
